GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida forward/center Alex Condon was named SEC Player of the Week, the Southeastern Conference announced on Monday.

Condon posted a double-double in Florida’s win at top-ranked Auburn on Saturday with 17 points and 10 rebounds to go with four assists. That followed a 19-point, nine-rebound outing in the home win vs. Vanderbilt, adding four assists and two blocked shots without a turnover.

The Perth, Australia, native shot 14-for-16 from 2-point range (.875) over the two contests and logged a career-high 33 minutes against Auburn. With the Gators leading by 10 at the half in Auburn, Condon scored seven points in the first five minutes out of the break to extend the Florida lead and solidify UF’s control of the game.

Condon becomes the eighth Gator in program history – just the third frontcourt player (Joakim Noah, Colin Castleton) – to earn multiple SEC Player of the Week honors in a season, having also garnered the recognition following his double-double in the January defeat of No. 1 Tennessee.
