GAINESVILLE, Fla. — There isn’t another player on the Florida Gators baseball team who works harder than Colby Shelton. The junior shortstop enrolled at Alabama out of high school and quickly adapted to the college game. Shelton earned First Team Freshman All-American honors after hitting .300 (61-203) with 10 doubles and one triple to go with the 25 home runs.
Shelton transferred to Florida prior to the 2024 baseball season. He earned the starting shortstop role for the Gators where he started all 66 games for the Orange and Blue. Shelton slashed .254/.374/.551 with a .925 OPS (second on team) across 256 at bats. He tallied 65 hits, 20 homers, one triple, 14 doubles, 60 runs, 56 RBI and 35 walks.
Shelton returned to the Gators and is back with Florida Victorious for the 2025 campaign.
