GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators landed a commitment from UCLA receiver J. Michael Sturdivant, The receiver has one more year of eligibility and will spend that in Gainesville.
Sturdivant entered the portal last week and visited the Gators last weekend. His teammate at UCLA, quarterback Justyn Martyn, also visited the Gators. Sturdivant has 123 career catches for 1,667 yards and 13 touchdowns in three seasons at UCLA and Cal. He recorded 58 receptions for 912 yards and six touchdowns in two seasons with the Bruins. He missed some time this season with an injury. Of note, Sturdivant had five catches for 117 yards vs. USC.
The Gators are set to return a solid receiver room with Eugene Wilson, Aidan Mizell, Marcus Burke, Khaliel Jackson, Tank Hawkins, and TJ Abrams, but are also looking to replace Chimere Dike and Elijhah Badger. Sturdivant brings veteran presence and proven production to the room.
